Hum Drum

If you’re in the mood for a boring post, continue reading.  We haven’t done much lately, hence the lack of posting.  We finally took the kids to the Bean Museum, which they loved.  And it being free is always an added bonus.
109_0283 109_0275TJ’s company sent him on another excursion.  This time on a cruise to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.  And no, I didn’t feel one pang of jealousy….Ahem, moving on…
I took Kaitlyn to a dance class that my friend taught.  She loved it and is looking forward to the fairy ballet class that will be starting soon.
We had a fun little St. Patty’s Day party.  Hope ya’ll wore green!
109_0324I just noticed Logan is wearing the same shirt in most of our pictures. This one is definitely his favorite.
Hope you didn’t fall asleep reading this post.  I’m sure I’ll have much more excitement to report next time.

Dirty laundry

A couple of very curious objects have accumulated in our laundry baskets:

I N V U 4 U R A Q T!

I know Valentine’s Day is a ploy for companies to make money…But I love it!  We had a great day full of goodies, cards and “I love yous”.  TJ gave me some red roses and Logan gave Kait a pink rose.  Kait was so excited about all the candy and everything pink, of course (we even had pink milk for breakfast).

Kait LOVED her pink marshmallow kitten.  Thanks Grandma Fin!

TJ was around for the occasion, but he hid behind the camera.  We hope you all had a great day too and were able to spend it with the ones you love!

Hairy Situation

TJ grew a beard for the annual scout klondike campout.  When he got home he shaved it off in phases:
Phase 1: Mountain Man

Phase 2: Hell’s Angel

Phase 3: Village People Revival?

Phase 4: Naked as a Jaybird

I will never understand the term “naked as a jaybird”.  Come on people, jaybirds have feathers!  Ha ha...Um, ok, moving on....I had a crafty moment today and had to run with it.  The kids had lots of fun helping.  Who knew toilet paper rolls could serve so many purposes?
IMG_4650If you know me you know I’m not crafty, so this is about as far as I go.  You’re blown away, aren’t you?

Your eyes do not deceive you

Okay, I suppose it’s about time for another post, although we haven’t been up to much besides getting very sick of being sick!  I took both of the kids to the doctor on Monday only to find out they both had ear infections and colds yet again.  TJ went to see the doctor on Thursday and I got to visit with him on Friday.  Such an exciting life we lead!  Now we’re all on antibiotics and hoping to perk up soon.  I’m also on some “wicked” steroids to clear up my nasal passages!  Time to bulk up at the gym perhaps?!?   Next time you see me I will be the next body building champion!  Ha ha.  We seriously have not had a full night’s rest since before Christmas…I know, whine, groan, whine some more.

My reason for posting really wasn’t to gripe, honest.  We finally got a decent amount of snow on Friday (about 10 inches) and we got enough energy to play in it for a while.  Kait has become a big fan of ‘Charlie and Lola’ on the Disney Channel and the books…We read a book about building snowmen and snow dogs, so TJ helped Kait make a snow puppy.  It turned out looking like a snow Bull Terrier.  So nice to hang out in the fresh air and nip our cabin fever in the butt!

Sugar plums and emergency rooms

We have had a fun and exhausting Christmas vacation. We've been spending the holiday with TJ's family in Delta. All three of the little kids got sick with ear infections, coughs, fevers and pink eye. We took them to the doctor on Thursday and got them started on antibiotics. The medication seemed to help Kait, but Logan was not getting better. By Sunday he was very lethargic and coughing so hard he would throw up. TJ and I took him in to the emergency room. Our little "Logie" had a 104 degree fever, his ears were "flaming red" (according to the doc.), he was quickly becoming dehydrated and he had developed croup. I was relieved that his lungs were clear though...After my dad's bout with pneumonia I'm a little paranoid. Anyway, Logan got a little shot to jump start his recovery and we've started him on new antibiotics. Such an adventure! I'm just glad he's on the up and up now. Worrying about your child is one of the worst things...Especially when you feel helpless and can only hold them while they sob.
On Christmas Eve we went to TJ's grandpa's house, ate dinner, played games and acted out the nativity. And of course, what Christmas Eve would be complete without opening new pj's! We woke up early Christmas morning and tore into our presents. TJ's brother, Marcus called from Taiwan where he is serving a mission for the church. Other than that we've just spent our days lounging around, praying everyone gets feeling better soon.

We hope you all had a very happy Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Game Afoot

We celebrated Christmas a few days early with my parents and the kids couldn’t wait to change into their new footy pj’s.  Plenty of slipping, sliding and scooting down the hall!

Thank-you-giving

We decided to bite the bullet and head to Vegas to visit Amy and Joe for Thanksgiving.  TJ’s parents were so nice to let us borrow their van so my parents could travel with us too.  It was a fun little road trip and the kids did great on the long drive.

We over-ate, went to bed late, shopped ‘til we dropped and the guys even squeezed in a little Mario Cart.  Amy (being pregnant and all) and Joe were great hosts and showed us all the fun sights.

IMG_4437IMG_4438IMG_4466   Gee, do you think Kait is starting to show a little attitude?

Psychedelic!

I just wanted to post some pictures of the end result of our cake making.  It was lots of fun to make and it turned out looking pretty cool!

Short & Sweet

We had a fun Halloween weekend.  Amy and Joe had Friday off due to Nevada Day, so they drove up and spent the weekend partying with us.  We ate tons of junk and stayed up late.  Saturday night we took the kids trick-or-treating to a few houses and then had our annual Halloween dinner.IMG_4301

Rambo

Me and the kids went with Abby and Gichin to their ward Halloween party. I really wanted to dress Logan up as Rambo. TJ’s suction gun worked well as his firearm. He’s ready for battle!

3 Amigos

Our family went up American Fork Canyon with TJ’s sister, Abby, hubby Gichin and daughter, Haddie to take family pictures. We got a few shots of the kids together and I couldn’t help posting my favorite one. Logan has the funniest little facial expressions.

I think he was yawning in these next two…He was over the whole picture taking thing.
